Moving heavy objects

Engel Krane was founded in 1992, strategically choosing Magdeburg as its ideal location. The company experienced rapid growth and soon invested in new cranes. Over the years, Engel Krane specialized increasingly in the movement of heavy and large objects. Recognizing the potential benefits of incorporating a skidding system into their operations, they decided to reach out to Holmatro industrial Equipment.

Situation:

One of Engel-Krane's customers requested a special project that involved moving several large autoclaves. An autoclave is a substantial pressure tank designed to be sealed and withstand high gas pressures. The project required both indoor and outdoor placement. While Engel-Krane utilized their specialized cranes for lifting wherever possible, they needed an alternative solution to move the autoclaves into their final positions.
Challenge: 
Engel-Krane was tasked with moving, placing, and installing ten autoclaves, each weighing 60 tons and measuring over 30 meters in length. To accomplish this, they needed a solution to bring these massive autoclaves indoors.

Solution:

After initial contact, we began developing an optimal solution to meet this challenge. Given the weight and location of the assignment, it was an ideal job for our 200-Ton skidding system. This Lightweight Skidding System, composed of extremely lightweight components, can be easily carried, handled, and positioned by one or two people without the need for a forklift or additional equipment. With a maximum capacity of 200 tons when using two skidding units, and a total construction height of just 56 mm, it was perfect solution for lifting the autoclaves. Additionally, Engel-Krane could leverage this system for future projects!

To lift these autoclaves, Engel-Krane additionally used the aluminum hydraulic cylinders from Holmatro. The Holmatro Aluminum Cylinders (HAC) offer the best of both worlds, being over 50% lighter than their steel counterparts while retaining equal robustness. It was the perfect combination of using the skidding system from Holmatro in combination with the hydraulic lifting cylinders, that could help Engel-Krane to complete the job. 
After purchasing the complete Holmatro lightweight skidding system & lifting cylinders, Engel-Krane was able to perform the job as expected and placed all 10 autoclaves perfectly on their place.
