The Holmatro Rescue Experience has arrived down under this year, in Sydney (March 3rd) and Brisbane (March 6th) by Holmatro and our Australian dealer. For this knowledge sharing event we were privileged to have a truly international team of keynote speakers and presenters that include experts in technical and medical rescue who have practiced all over the world.
The event in Sydney, held at Eastern Creek Motor Sports Park, was attended by 100 rescuers from all over New South Wales and beyond. It was a mix of theoretical presentations and practical demonstrations from John Glasheen (a critical care doctor), Brigid Wall (a paramedic), Joff van Ek (a leading fire fighter from Melbourne), Kris Parker (the road crash rescue instructor for the State Emergency Service of Victoria) and Ian Dunbar (Holmatro Rescue Consultant).
Topics discussed included:
As there were multiple agencies at the event, there was a lot of discussion surrounding technical and medical rescue techniques and the day was a great success. We had many rescue services represented, including paramedics, private rescue teams and military personnel.
From Sydney, the team relocated to the 35 degrees’ heat of Queensland. The venue was QCESA (Queensland Combined Emergency Service Academy) located in Port of Brisbane. The program for the day was the same as Sydney and it was received with the same high level of enthusiasm. Notable at this event was one person who had travelled a total of 2000 km to join us and another one who had travelled from New Zealand. That is dedication!
The feedback we have received has been absolutely brilliant, with people commenting on the quality of the presenters and the information they share.
In September 2015 Rescue Experience will once again go down under, this time to Melbourne (September 26 and 27) and Tasmania (September 30).
