Firefighters in the Helsinki region participated in a practical one-day training program to extend their knowledge and extrication skills.
The program started with a presentation and discussion about the Team Approach. The aim of this approach is to reduce extrication time by performing several different tasks at the same time. Sharing knowledge is a key element of a Rescue Experience and participants had the opportunity to compare different working methods.
The afternoon was spent practising extrication techniques with various rescue tools. Rescue Consultant Rens de Jonge explained the benefits of Holmatro's Inclined Cutter: its unique angled jaw makes cutting easier in high and low positions and you have more room for tool movement.
The Finnish firefighters got the chance to put Holmatro's new cordless rescue equipment to the test, including the latest addition to the range: the battery powered telescopic ram. They experienced that the performance of the new cordless tools is exactly the same as the traditional CORE hose tools.
